McGuinn, Clark & Hillman was a 1970s American trio of Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark and Chris. They are far better than the overproduced disco record they put out in the late 70's. Tambourine Man is an arrangement where McGuinn, Clark, and Hillman each take a verse. 1 2 The musical was never staged and the song was instead released in September 1970 as part of the Byrds' (Untitled) album. Chestnut Mare sounds fantastic with Clark and Hillman harmonizing. ' Chestnut Mare ' is a song by the American rock band the Byrds, written by Roger McGuinn and Jacques Levy during 1969 for a planned country rock musical named Gene Tryp. It's a really amazing show, and everyone is in fine voice. Then Hillman joins him for songs 3 and 4, and then McGuinn comes out and the three of them do tracks 5 through 9. So You Want To Be A Rock 'n' Roll StarĬlark does the first two songs solo. The show is mostly acoustic but McGuinn plays some electric 12-string. ![]() It's a McGuinn, Clark, and Hillman show in which David Crosby makes an appearance, and it was apparently recorded for and broadcast on local (San Francisco) radio at the time. I'd heard about this show but never sought it out until recently. ![]()
